Prickly Pear

A part of the desert, vast, empty, untouchable, the cactus is a powerful symbol of survival.  Imposing with its thorns and alien shapes.  To catch one in bloom, I feel privileged.  Thorns arch away, exposing her flower, inviting me to feel her vulnerability
